Sign it Apparently Robbie Reeves is annoyed with petitioners (sw h as myself) who have the tierse to waste ,10 seconds of his valuable time to ask if he'd like to actu ally participate in the dem ot rate proc ess He would like us to ‘sit down and shut up” and let interested voters come and sign on their own. Well gosh. Robbie. 1 sure am sorry to cause you such trauma! I would love to sit behind a table and wait for people to line up and sign I don't like at costing p.isserstn any more than they enjoy lieing accosted, especially in the rain. Unfortunately, pas sively waiting for people to come to us would result in about two signatures a day if we re lucky Sad but true, most people don’t even bother to learn about the issues that affet t them, so it is up to others to bring those issues to their attention I commend and en< mirage your desire to read an initiative before you sign it, and I under stand that takes extra time. How ever, I would like to remind you that by signing an initiative peti tion you are not necessarily sup porting its content, you are merely expressing you willing ness to see it on the ballot so the people can decide. You have nothing to lose except 30 whole seconds. So Robbie, next time you see a petitioner, give him or her a break. Find out what the peti tion is, sign it. or say no — that's it.
