LETTERS Some ‘forum’ Yesterday, while silling in Room 185 PLC waiting for a i hiss to start. 1 noticed an announcement written on the blackboard saying something the likes of "Come see Con gressperson (apparently he somehow trngu ally lost his gen der) Peter DeF'ii/io. tonight!" along with the time and place he would tie appearing. Folks, that's really funny, because I've been trying to orga nize an appearance for Frnie Garrett, who will be running against DeF.tzio next November, for a few months now In this pursuit. I have txien stonewalled by both College Republicans (perhaps the most impotent and patneucniiy unorganized stu dent group on this rumpus) and In thf FMU Cultural Forum For a University from whoso students and professors I've heard no end of whining about how difficult it is for any chal lenger to unseat an incumbent, the people I've trier! to cooperate with certainly help facilitate this situation. The gentleman I talked to at the Cultural Forum said, "I can’t look like I’m endorsing a particular c andi date." Nevertheless, all DeFazio has to do is left a finger in order to have a big event organized for him on campus. As much ns I hate to make speculative accusations, could it lie that the Cultural Forum made life difficult for me because Ernie Garrett is a Republican? Ernie Garrett is an open-mind ed, charismatic and extremely personable fellow, so much so that he has recently become an advocate for the legalization of hemp for industrial use I urge all of you to find out more about this dynamic new candidate. Mr Barnhart stumped his feet, sprang from his seat, threw Ins books, sucked his teeth, mum bled to himself, stormed out of the room and slammed the door That final at lion deprived the meeting mid the students of a quorum, so no legally binding vote ( mild lie made If this is the behavior you want to see dis played by your ASIJO president, then vote for Todd Barnhart I guarantee that is just what you'll get.
