Washington, 8-4 and 16-5, dropped to fourth in the league standings Oregon held the Huskies to Washington's low est point total in a game since 1992. The 21-point victory was the largest margin of defeat for Washington this season Oregon held Washington to a 271 field goal percentage while shooting 58 percent from the floor. The game seesawed for the first seven minutes, then Ore gon took the lead at 8-6 and extended it through the remainder of the first half. The Ducks outscored Washington 7-1 in the final 1:23 of the half and took a 30-18 advantage into halftime. fhe Huskies closed within eight points of Oregon twice in the first four minutes of the se< ond half However, Oregon responded with an 11-0 run, ond Washington never recov ered Oregon led by as many as 26. and the Huskies never came close to a comeback Washington went for what amounted to the entire second half before it scored a field goal from outside five feet Sara Wilson led the Ducks in scoring with 15 points, [es sic-a Schutt had 13 points and Debbie Sporcich had 13 points and 12 rebounds Washington's full-court defensive pressure, a major concern for Oregon in prepar ing for the game, forced 33 turnovers, but Washington committed 2H turnovers. Oregon head coach Jody Runge gave credit to point guard Missy Croshaw after the game. "She played with every thing she had. She had some body hawking her the whole night, and we would have gotten boat by 50 if Missy Croshaw did not handle the hall for us." Runge said.
