WARNING: Armageddon must
bn near or something, because
people were actually slam-danc
ing at Taylor's College Side Inn
lost Saturday night
Or maybe it wasn't the end of
the world — it was probably just
the music of Multiple Sarcasm,
who played a fine set of original
tunes to a packed Taylor's crowd
Technically, you wouldn't
even call it slam-dancing After
all. there weren't enough guvs
hanging around on the floor, and
most of those who were had
pitchers of beer in their hands
It was an odd mix, but Tay
lor’s. which usually caters to a
mellower roc k t rowd, and Mul
tiple Sarcasm have a way of mix
ing well, odd or not. And it was
a particularly good mix Saturday
Multiple Sarcasm started with
“Quick to My l ines," a song from
the hand's 1901 debut Kf* Four
play, as lead singer Jason Deigert
roared into his lines and guitarist
Ian Crane strutted around the
dance floor with his c ordless gui
tar.
“She told me her name, but I'm
Inkin' my time/I have to move
slowly 'cause I'm quic k to my
lines," Deigert sang, and the
crowd responded.
The audience, mostly students
who likely drank more after real
izing that classes were just
around the comer come Monday,
pushed toward the front with
beer in hand, appropriately danc -
ing to songs such ns "Drinkin . '
Multiple Sarc asm, who used
to play fairly cover-heavy sets,
seem to have dropped most of
that image. In its place were intel
