Gymnasts to stop in Portland Several of the gymnasts who wowed the crowds In Barcelona this summer are stopping in Portland as part of the ]9«2 Tour of Olympic and World Champion Gymnasts. American standout Shannon Miller, who won five medals, will be joined by Tatiana Cutsu, Grigori Misutin and Svetlana Bogulnskaya of the* Unified team, as woll as others from various countrios. Tho Portland stop is set for Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p m in the Memorial Coliseum. The even! is being hilled as Ihe largest lineup of international champion gymnasts to tour so ex tensively. All they know is that these guys are pretty noisy in the morning. A Paramount Pictures film crew has been in Oakland shooting the science fiction movie Fire in the Sky. The film, scheduled for release in March, stars James Garner, D.B. Sweeney, who was featured in the TV rniniserles Lonesome Dove, and Robert Patrick, who co-starred In Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The script is based on the supposed true tale of a rowdy logger, played by Sweeney, whose encounter with aliens divides his small Arizo na town. Only it's Oregon, not Arizona And these al iens are from Hollywood.
