The notice of motion to amend the senate by-laws was to make the chairperson positon of the Committee on Commit tees a function of the senate vice chairperson, effectively remov ing Paulson as an officer of the senate The Committee on Commit tees is responsible for filling the student seats on about BO University committees There must be a motion to amend by law changes one week before the actual vote. If the amendment passes, it will solve a conflict with the ASUO Constitution, which already states that the senate vice chair shall serve as chair of the Committee on Committees. However, amendments to the by-law must be passed by a two thirds majority; for the past three meetings, less than Iwo thirds of the senators have at tended the meetings. By voting to ask the Constitu tion Court to declare two seats vacant, the senate removed Eric [.arson and Pat Brown from the senate. Brown, who represented Seat 13. had declared to the senate that he did not wish to continue on the senate. Larson, who represented Seat 4. was removed because of non fulfillment of duties He broke by-laws by missing three meetings plus Wednesday's University Assembly meeting.
