If dancers violate those rules they are fined heavily or even fired. Duncan said that to her knowledge no Jiggles dancer has been involved in prostitu tion. and if she ever found a dancer doing that, she would fire her immediately and report it to the police. But the problem is best avoid ed by carefully screening ap plicants to find "good, clean" girls, she said. "When I hire somebody in the first place 1 investigate them thoroughly. I check their police records,” she said. The dancers, some 32 who work anywhere from 20 to 40 hours a week, come from all walks of life. Some dancers are lawyers, doctors, single mothers or University students. "I often find myself very close ly involved with each in dividual on a personal level," Duncan said. "We re all a very close group. It's almost like a sorority.” Jiggles advertisements to recruit dancers claim dancers make from $1,000 to $4,000 a month. Hansen said to his knowledge only one dancer made more than $4,000 last month. One dancer, who wished to Ire identified only by her first name. Tess, said she works about 40 hours a week and makes about $2,000 a month. She said about $400 a month comes from wages and the rest comes from tips.
