Petitions submitted for ASUO elections ny i.aroiyn Lamberson Of the F.merald As the 5 p.m. filing deadline passed Friday. 47 students had submitted petitions to run for 27 available ASUO elected positions. A total of five people are seek ing the president’s office. Join ing Kasey Brooks and Sarah Lachkar in the running is Phil Levinson and Thomas Stansfield. Also in the running for presi dent is Steve F r i c h e 11 e. Frichette had orignally an nounced intentions of running as a co-presidential candidate with Donna Cooper. t'eeHons \. ^ In the vice-president’s race, there are four candidates. Jodie Mooney is running on the Students for a Progressive Agenda ticket with Lachkar. Running on the Concerned Students for Responsive Government ticket with Brooks is Karen Gaffney, while Cooper has become Frichette’s vice presidential running mate. Robert Ball is running as Levinson's vice president, and Stansfield is running as a single candidate. Seeking three one-year In cidental Fee Committe seats are six candidates. They are Collin Farrell, Kristin Teigen, Teddy Wallace, Steve Hoyt, Sandra Thompson and Ron Munion. There are also two available two-year positions with five people in the running. They are Douglas Pyle, Wayne Skill, J.B. Leahy, Armando Morales and Joshua M. King. Munion and Morales are cur rently members of the IFC, which is repsonsible for allocating more than $3 million in student incidental fee to groups on campus. In the Student Senate, there are 15 available seats. Sixteen students announced candidacy in 11 of those seats, leaving four vacant to potential write-in can didates. There are eight can didates running unopposed: Pat Brown (seat 13). Mark Sanders (seat 5), Duane Dungannon (seat 1), Pieter Paulson (seat 12), Paul Coughlin (seat 2). Alicia Sloan (seat 6). Michael Faherty, Peter Nisbet and Sean Smith are com peting for seat 7, while Nathan Walker. Eric Grimes and Carl Rasmussen are in the race for seat 9. There are six candidates run ning for three two-year EMU Board seats. They are: Matt Smith, Joern Wettern. Jim Munyer. Kevin Taylor. Bo Kim and i.isa Nichols. The two can didates running for the one-year seat are William Todd and Tamie Kaufman. Smith, Taylor, Kaufman and Nichols have all been endorsed by CSRL. There are three candidates running for two positions on the Associated Students Presidents Advisory Council. They are Jeff Morgan. Nicole Lewis and Jeff Hannon. These are one-year positions.
