"Psychic ESP Adventure" attracts a varied crowd By Sarah Kitchen Of th« Kmerald Palm readers, tarot card readers, face readers, and mediums gathered this weekend in Eugene at the 'Psychic ESP Adventure'. Cassie Carroll founded ESP Adventure a year ago, and since then has been organizing fairs throughout the country Carroll, herself a psychic reader, invites various professional psychics from around the world to par ticipate in the fair. "1 find there is more interest in the subject, and that people are more aware that they have psychic abilities," Carroll said. Iris Betts, from Boise, Idaho, has been doing professional palm readings for eight years. Betts became interested in the subject after taking community education classes in palm reading. Betts, who was raised a Mor mon, said that palmistry was not a profession that she would have chosen, however once she studied it she was unable to ig nore the subject "After taking the classes, my intuition refused to leave me alone. I kept seeing combina tions of things that woulfl give me more insight, and palmistry became a tool of looking and in vestigating for me,” Betts said. Betts also does psychic in vestigation work, which in cludes locating missing children, missing objects, and stolen objects Betts said that she works more with private investigators than she does with the police. The police are slowly coming around to using psychics to help them with their investiga tions, Betts added. When trying to locate a miss ing child, Betts said she trys to tap into that child's energy and vibration; by doing this. Betts said that she gels mental pic - tures of the child. "The first thing I do when I'm working with missing children is I discern whether or not they are living. If they are living.
