Law school applications up By Kirsten Boiin iM tfie><m*r«kJ Increased recruiting efforts are paving off tor the University Si.hnnl of law as the number of applicants for this tail rose ,t percent after last year's 20 percent decline ' We've increased our efforts, particularly after last vears's decline," says Marilyn Bradulit h. law school admissions director The law school has received about 850 ap piications for 1985-80, up from 825 in 1984-85. last year's total was a 20 percent decrease from the more than 1.000 applica tions received in 1081-84 intensified efforts include sending law school recruiters to law fairs and forums across the country. Bradetich says University representatives will be recruiting in (aiifo, nia. New York and the Midwest as well as throughout Oregon this year, she says. The overall decline in applicants over the last two years has not affected enrollment at the law school because the number of ap plicants has always greatly exceeded the number of students accepted, Hradetich says ()f the H!>0 applications received this year, the law sc hool is planning on a class of about 170. she says. lam school application numbers are down across fhe country, which she attributes to the increased number of students majoring in business and the sciences.
