Courts replace parking lot ny julie rmmmn (H Ihr Kmmrald Tennis replaced tirws last! week on the Aider Street temnis courts, which served as a park inn lot for students, faculty and staff during spring term. The $30,000 conversion of the courts, located on Alder Street between Ittth and 17th avenues, to a 132-space parking lot in March was met with pro test from a group of students who said that neither they nor any of the faculty went represented by the Parking Ad ministration Committee that recommended the change, • Tiie committee, formed by Dan Williams, vice president tor administration, hoped the lot • would provide temporary relief from the University’s ongoing parking problem, whi( h had worsened sim «• the West University parking plan lor* od. drivers, to move off the •streets . and -find other areas around i a'tnpi.is to park.
