The state earns between $700 and $1,000 a month from sales It saves another $1,500 a month by not having to lug discarded paper to the Marion County landfill, General Services Department officials estimate By law, the state must buy recycled paper whenever pos sible Oregon was among the first states to require such ex tensive bureaucratic recycling, beginning in 1973 ‘Doo-dah dancers parade in Pasedena PASADENA, Calif.
