Bookstore profits up, while fall sales dip The University bookstore earned a profit of $154,641 last year, but store manager Jim Williams says low cash reserves during the year may leave the store vulnerable to an emergency The earnings reported at Tuesday's board of directors meeting were up 9 4 percent from last year The profit, based on sales of $5,814,037. was the fourth profit in the last five years totaling more than $125,000 However, sales this fall are down 3.5 percent from last fall, reflecting the 9 percent drop in enroll ment. Williams says The bookstore faces uncertainty in its cashflow, according to a report submitted by Williams at the meeting Bills to be paid exceeded available cash for five months last year and the store avoided borrow ing money through careful cash management, the timing of bill payments and the timing of sales." the report reads Current reserves of $175.000 are insufficient in case of an emergency, the report adds MEETINGS Campus Crusade lor Christ’s weekly meeting.
