Gather ’round Jerry Rust, Lane County Commissioner running tor governor, climbed atop the EMU soapbox Wednesday and let students know where he stands. “You've gotta get involved — let 'em know how you feel,” Rust advised, directing students to send postcards to their congress men. Weyerhaeuser’s McKenzie River project “went against the land-use plan oithe people” and was “on their terms — not the communi ty’s terms," Rust said to smattering applause. Rust’s visit was sponsored by the Univer sity Democrats. Groups slate forum on aid cuts A forum to discuss Pres Ronald Reagan's proposed fi nancial aid cuts will be held to night at 7 30 in EMU Room 167. The forum, sponsored by the ASUO and SUAB brings together both critics and sup porters of Reagan's budget proposal Reagan's proposal includes a $141 5 million reduc tion in 1982-83 financial aid ap propriation Reagan's 1983-84 proposal would eliminate $590 million from the amount available this academic year Defending Reagan s proposal will be Peter Murphy, Reagan's campaign head in Oregon dur ing the 1980 election. Other scheduled speakers include Cynthia Wooten, city council member and an aide to Rep Jim Weaver, D-Oregon; Ray Naff, an aide to Sen Mark Hatfield, R Oregon; and Eduardo Wolle, the Belushi died of cocaine, heroin OD, coroner says LOS ANGELES (AP) — Comedy star John Belushi died of an overdose of cocaine and heroin, the Los Angeles coroner announced Wednesday Coroner Thomas Noguchi said that Belushi died ' due to intravenous injections of heroin and cocaine,'' and said that both drugs were found on the premises where he died Noguchi's secretary said that the coroner would comment on the results Thursday but would have no immediate comment The written announcement said that the medical investigation into Belushi's death has been completed The brief statment said.
