Fiscal problem may reappear SALEM (AP) — House Speaker Hardy Myers said Tuesday that the Legislature may be back by July to tackle another budget crisis similar to the one that caused the record-length special session which ended this week The lawmakers adjourned the state's 22nd special session late Monday after balancing the budget and erasing a projected deficit estimated at about a third of a billion dollars But they left only a $7 million reserve for a remain ing budget of about $2 billion Myers, a Portland Democrat, said the June revenue forecast for the state probably will reveal more bad economic news that may prompt a summer session "It's everybody’s expectation that the next forecast will show a further downturn," he said Compounding the fiscal problem are election campaigns, said Myers This year all 60 state repre sentatives, half the state's 30 senators and Gov Vic Atiyeh face campaigns Opposition to the Republican governor's proposals to solve budget problems may stiffen in the Democrat dominated Legislature if the lawmakers convene in the midst of campaigns, he said 686-43431 Clothing MISC.
