Boyles got things rolling after the Ducks had built a 12-7 lead in the early going The undefeated senior built a 7-1 first round lead before putting Fresno's 150-pound Kevin Carrera to the mat for the pin and his fifth win on the season with 36 seconds remaining in the first round After the intermission, Beutler and Sheriff put Fresno out of the match First, Beutler pinned Fresno State's Robert Juarez two minutes into their 158-pound match to up the count to 24-7, then Sheriff followed suit, falling the Bulldog’s Scott Inouye just 47 seconds into the 167-pound contest. For Beutler, it was his fourth win of the season against no defeats, while Sheriff improved his mark to 10-5 Despite the score, there was little for Duck fans to cheer about other than the pinning spree that gave the home team a 30-7 edge with three matches left The Ducks looked tired from their roadtrip, relying on forfiets at 126 and heavyweight to run up the score. "We looked flat," said Oregon mat coach Ron Finley of the win The Ducks left Ellensburg, Wash , at 6 a m Thursday - the last leg of a swing through that state which included a temperature of 22 degrees below zero in Pullman "That's no excuse," Finley said "We just didn't think out there The boys from California got an early jump on the Ducks when freshman Abric Liley stuck a 16-5 loss on Oregon's Randy Ohta at 118 Ohta is subbing for the injured Mike Erb who is expected to be out for at least three more weeks with an injured arm. At 134, Oregon's Cliff Porter picked up his 10th victory when Fresno’s Eric Osmer came up with a bad knee and defaulted after two rounds Porter had built a 9-1 lead and had nearly pinned Osmer before the default. We can use the week off,” said Finley of his squad's pending break before they return to action hosting 12th ranked San Jose State next Thursday It's a tough way to do it,” the coach said of the rigorous schedule this week, "but it's a good way to prepare for tour naments " _^||j|J_Fishbowl n \\w id K DELI Featuring new item: MEATBALL SANDWICH $1.20
