Bachelor adds lodges BEND — Mt Bachelor will begin daily operations Nov 20 for the 1981-82 ski season The Main Lodge base area wil be open offering complete ser vices Seven of the nine chairlifts will be in operation, including the Flycreek and the new Avalanche chairs Chairs not operating at this time will be the Green and Outback chairs The Blue Lodge and parking area will open Nov 21 offering food service, ticket sales and com plete ski shop services Starting Thanksgiving week end, the new Flycreek Lodge and parking area will provide skiers with lift ticket and parking space for 500 cars, bringing the total parking capacity at Mt Bachelor to 2,500 From the new base area, skiers have access to the new Avalanche Triple Chairlift and the Flycreek chair Mt Bachelor's Nordic Sports Center also will host a Thanksgiving cross-country clinic Nov 27 and 28 The clinic is open to anyone Classes include beginners, intermediate and advanced track techniques, plus back country skills, cross-country, downhill and racing techniques Camp chairers are Bob Mathews, Mt Bachelor's nordic director and Bob Woodward, Editor of "Cross-country Ski Magazine " The camp staff will include instructors from Northwest Ski Instructors Association and U S Ski Association coaches from Oregon and Washington "The camp," says Mathews, "is designed to help skiers of all levels and abilities They will be grouped according to ability levels for more specific atten tion " The cost is $35 for the two days Pre-registration is required and will close Sunday Forms are available by writing Mt Bachelor and at some ski shops Write to Mathews, Mt Bachelor Nordic Sports Center, P O Box 1031.
