Campus Interfaith Ministry (CIM) is the name for a team of Christians and Jews working together in ministry to the campus community at the University of Oregon CIM brings together ten denominations to provide the most inclusive and effective campus ministry services to the U of O We are the community of faith on campus reaching out to meet the religious and ethical needs and concerns of all people on and around campus providing opportunities for worship, intellectual and spiritual growth, and action on behalf of peace and justice . . .people & places You are welcome to share in the life and ministry of CIM, to take advantage of the opportunities for growth and action that are available, and to bring new ideas and energy into this ministry For CIM is most of all people—people of faith on campus who are ministering to each other and the academic community listening, raising questions, sharing faith perspectives, getting involved We hope you’ll join us! r=+± *Jr}zj~jgp Koinonia Center. . . . . . across from PLC and the Library 1414 Kincaid • 484-1707 • open 8:30-5 weekdays Koinonia (pronounced Coin-oh-nee-ah) is the Greek word for "fellowship” or faith community, and that’s what we’re all about., a community of people struggling with questions of faith, values and lifestyles. Our center is home base for several campus ministries: Richard Beswick, Restoration; Linda Harrell Bruno, Episcopal: Alice Kinberg, Jewish: Norm Metzler, Lutheran: Mary Lynn Tobin, United Presbyterian; and Lois Van Leer, American Baptist/Disciples/U.C.C. Our administrator, Donna Mann O’Leary directs the traffic and is always ready to lend a helping hand or listening ear Each Koinonia staff member puts a high priority on being available for one-to-one counseling in all areas (personal, religious, crisis, vocational, draft, marital and pre-marital), and encourage people to drop by and talk informally or to set appointments, if preferred The various ministries offer opportunities for worship, either on campus or at local churches; study groups; fellowship; retreats; teaching credit and non-credit courses. The coffee pot is always on, the lounge and library are quiet places for study or relaxing, and the chapel a peaceful spot for reflection, meditation and worship. Holy Name Sister Marquita Yriarte, and secretary Patricia Armstrong at the center Newman Center is open every day from morning until late evening for study, relaxation, prayer meditation, and fellowship You will always find a welcome and a chance to meet members of the Community when you drop by We also maintain a library of religious literature for your use, and Newman makes its facilities available for campus-related groups to use as part of its ministry to the campus community Canticle inn, a Saturday evening coffeehouse, is available to the entire Christian community for music and fellowship Our schedule for liturgy is: weekday mass at 12:30 p m (at Sacred Heart Chapel), Saturday mass at 5:00 p.m . and Sunday mass at 9:00 am, 11 00 am, 5:00 p.m , and 7:30 p.m we^ur*' 3 Wesley Center. . . . .. next to the University Bookstore 1236 Kincaid • 344-4219 • open 8:00 to 5:00 weekdays The Wesley Center is home for the United Methodist campus ministry. Alice Knotts, together with the Wesley Student Council on Ministries, plans worship events, retreats, socials and workshops designed to meet the personal, religious and social needs of the students at the U of O the various events offered at Wesley Center are aimed at assisting students' development of their faith, personality, identify, vocation, friendships, and responsible global citizenship Alice also enjoys just visiting with students on an informal basis, and is glad to counsel with them on special concerns. Wesley Center has plenty of space for people to study, snooze, eat lunch, visit, pray or meditate in the chapel Various campus ministry and campus-related groups make use of the Center for worship and meeting We hope you'll feel free to stop by and make use of the Wesley Center yourself! There will be an OPEN HOUSE at all the Centers 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 23 followed by a FREE DINNER for all new & returning students who wish to come to the Newman Center from 5-6:30, co-hosted by all the campus ministers. \
