Reservations Oak & Broadway 484-5730 Four G TFs earn honor Two University graduate students will receive the Graduate Teaching Fellow Award for Outstanding Teaching for 1981 Chosen from among 58 nominees were Gwen Soderberg, a master's degree student in chemistry, and David Frank, a doctoral degree student in rhetoric and communication The pair will receive the awards June 14 during spring term commencement at Hayward Field Two others — Susan Wolfe, a doctoral student in German, and Vincent Cassone, a doctoral student in biology — will receive hon orable mention First presented in 1979, the $500 awards were proposed by the University chapter of Mortar Board, a national academic and service honorary, to recognize excellence in teaching and advising A committee composed of a graduate teaching fellow, three faculty members, the associate dean of the graduate school and two Mortar Board members made the selections Academic standards, innovation and clarity in teaching, and student evaluations were qualities considered Soderberg graduated from the University in 1978, returning in the last fall to work toward a master's degree in chemistry Frank holds two degrees from Western Washington University in Bellingham He enrolled in the University 's speech doctoral program in the tall of 1979 Wolfe began her doctoral program in German in the fall of 1976 She holds a University master's degrees in French and German Cassone received a bachelor's degree from Colby College, Waterville, Maine, in 1975 and a master's degree from the University of Connec ticut.
