Students win annual awards Seven individual students and two living groups at the University were honored for their outstanding achievements Saturday, May 16. Micheal Schroeder, a junior biology major, received the Maurice Harold Hunter Leadership Scholarship. Julie Kennedy, a senior journalism major, received the Senior Women Recognition Award from the American Association of University Women. Sonia Maksymiuk, a junior political science major, won the Gerlinger Cup for leadership and service to the University. If Leann Warren, a two-time track all-American and a sophomore physical education major, won the Doyle-Higdon Memorial Trophy. Richard Wilkins, a junior political science major, was recipient of the Koyle Cup Amy Rittenberg, a junior art history major, won the Bess Templeton Cristman Award and a full-tuition scholarship for her high scholastic accomplishment. Alberto Salazar, world-class distance runner and senior marketing major, was the recipient of the Emerald Athletic Award for achievements in athletics, service and scholarship. 1 DR. JEFFREY A.
