The workshop will assist students in planning schedules aimed at satisfying graduation requirements, according to academic adviser Jack Bennett. Bennett says small groups will discuss the merits of liberal arts courses versus job-related skills. The worshop will include in formation about the University briefs SPEAKERS University Prof. Leland Roth will speak on "Dreams of Empire: The Architecture Patronage of Henry Villard" today at 4:30 p.m. in Room 177 Lawrence Hall. His talk is part of the AAA Faculty Lecture Series. Stanford University Chinese Prof. Albert Cien will speak on "Early Chinese Armor and its Depiction in Art" tonight at 7:30 p.m in Room 107 Lawrence Hall His talk is the last in the Maude Kerns lecture series for this year Prof. G.Z. Brown will speak on "Designing with Climate” today at 12:30 p.m. in the EMU, room to be posted The event is sponsored by the University Solar Energy Center and the Willamette Valley Solar Energy Association. Complaints or ideas concerning campus bicycling are welcomed. MECha will meet tonight at 5 p.m. in Room 16D EMU. The Black Liberation Support Committee will meet tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the EMU Fountain Court Cafe The Student Affairs Board will meet today at 3:30 p.m. in Room 337 EMU “Human Rights and Russian Literature," a symposium with panelists Andrei Sin iavsky, Vladimir Voinovich, L. Schroeter, and grading system, academic majors, and an alternative to traditional academic counseling — peer advising. Speakers will include pre health sciences adviser Marliss Strange, campus paraprofes sional program coordinator Debi Lance, and Bennett. The workshop, sponsored by the Office of Academic Advising and Student Services, will be repeated next Wednesday, May 27, at 3:30 in Room 164 Oregon Hall. Friends of the Museum Board of Governors are accepting applications for two student positions. One position is for the Governors' class of 1982 (one year) and one for the Governors' Class of 1983 (two years) Governors are expected to attend six business meetings each year, to generate additional student memberships and to serve on committees dealing with special projects Applicants must be members of the Friends. Student memberships are $5 00 per year. Applications should include a one-page statement describing why the applicant is interested in serving on the board and how the applicant can help the board fulfill its mission to the museum. Applications should be submitted to the Executive Committee Chair, Friends of the Museum, care of the Museum of Art. Dead line is June 1.
