Hart heads Demo meet
Sen. Gary Hart, D-Colorado,
will be keynote speaker at the
Oregon Democratic Party's
1981 Grass Roots Conference,
scheduled for today and Satur
day on the Western Oregon
State College campus in Mon
mouth.
Hart, George McGovern’s
campaign manager during the
1972 Presidential campaign, will
be the special guest of Rep. Les
AuCoin, D-Ore , during the
weekend. Hart will attend two
receptions and will be the main
speaker at the Saturday night
banquet.

“Mary-Douglass Stovall: A Photographic
Legacy of Western Wildflowers” is a show
featuring a portion of a collection of wild
flower slides given to the University by
Stovall and commentary on Stovall by Fran
cis Newsom and David Wagner. The pro
gram begins at 8 p m in Room 123 Science I
It is sponsored by the Eugene Natural His
tory Society
Prof. C. Garth Simpson of the an
thropology department at SMU will present a
slide show and commentary "Paleolithic
Research in Southern Africa" today at 3:30
p m in Room 204 Condon Hall. All are
invited.
Prof. Dallas Smythe of Temple University
will speak on “Audience Power” today at
3:30 p.m. in Room 201 Villard Hall
MEETINGS
Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship will
meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Stafford dorm

The Survival Center in conjunction with
the office of facilities planning, State
System of Higher Education and the state
energy department is holding a two-day
Energy Auditor Training Seminar Saturday
