Dr. Esther Matthews, profes sor emerita in counseling, will teach the class called Human Possibilities. The class is a product of Matthews’ 40 years of teaching counseling experiences. She will approach human potential as an essence within every in dividual and analyze this poten tial in terms of personal values and goals. “We have been sold that people are terrible, but in the vast majority there is a core of values and each person wants to be ethical,” Matthews says "Human beings can go as far as they want — once they get started.” An author of more than 40 papers on human potential and career development for women, Matthews views her philosophy as a radical change in the way people customarily view each other.
