Weaver holds state hearings on wilderness WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - A series of public hearings on Oregon’s wilderness areas has been set for late February by Rep. Jim Weaver, D-Ore. Meetings will be held in Salem, Medford and Bend to determine the best way to balance land designated as na tional forest wilderness areas with other uses for the land. Anyone wishing to testify at the hearings should contact Weaver's Eugene office, Skill man said.
