The changes spell out where the funds are to be deposited. Registered student organiza tions will deposit raised funds in a trust fund account in the EMU, while University departments, residence halls and University affiliated organizations will deposit funds in the appropriate departmental, EMU or trust fund account. The amendments also clarify the uses of such funds, noting that the money must be used for the benefit of the organization ‘‘in line with its statement of purpose filed at the time of registration or recognition as a student organization or as ther eafter updated.” The amendments to the per manent rule concerning the Amazon Housing Policy Board and Amazon Tenants Council Organization are language changes to make the rule similar to the one for the Westmoreland Family Housing Policy Board and Tenants Council. The Japanaaa Amarlcin Friendship Fund Scholarship: There will be partial tuition scholarships available to an American student studying Japanese language and to a Japanese student who will be able to make contribu tions to good Japanese-American relations through the Japanese-American Friendship Fund This fund was established in 1977 after the University Alumni Association of Japan raised money to show their love for their alma mater and the Eugene communi ty Both academic excellence and financial need will be the criteria for selecting the scholarship grantees. Any student who wishes to apply for this scholarship should pick up an application form in the office of the Department of East Asian Languages. Room 308 Friendly Hall. Deadline is Feb. 15.
