et al Yoga classes to begin Three yoga and exercise classes will be offered beginning next week at Friends’ Meetinghouse, 22nd Avenue and Onyx Street. The teachers are Jude Hart and Marty Adams, a registered nurse. “Yoga and Exercise for Pregnant Women” will meet Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and will run from next Monday through March 5. “Yoga and Exercise for Mothers, Fathers and Babies” will meet Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and will run from next Wed nesday through March 7. Babies should be at least three weeks old and not yet walking. “Yoga and Exercise for Parents and Children" will meet Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and will run from next Friday through March 9. Children should be able to walk and should not be more than 6 years old. The cost is $2 per class, $9 per series, $3 per week for two or more olasses or $15 for two or more series. Expert on dying to speak Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, a noted psychologist who is a specialist in the problems associated with death and dying, will speak in the Salem Armory Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Kubler-Ross, the author of several publications on dying, including “On Death and Dying,” recently completed her latest book, titled “To Live Until We Die." Tickets are $4 and are available at the Book and Tea Bookstore, 1646 E. 19th Ave. Day care plans center benefit The Morning Sun Child Care Center will have a benefit Sunday at the Harvester featuring the Whiskey Creek String Band and Dakota. The bands will start play ing at 9 p m. Because all costs of the benefit have been donated, the $1.50 tic ket price will go directly for build ing materials. This benefit is part of a fund raising campaign to extend the outdoor play area and to add classroom and office space and an entry way. Corrections, amplifications The Bill Sabel Jazz Trio will perform in the Maude I. Kerns Art Center at 4 p.m. Sunday with a $1.50 admission fee. Trident is an $80 billion nuclear submarine/weapons program being developed by the U.S. navy. Nearly 300 people entered the Bangor base in an act of civil disobedience May 22. Thirteen men and women from Eugene are among the 176 who were arrested, tried and convicted in December and will appear before the federal magistrate in Seattle today to face maximum sentences of six months in prison and $500 fines. The support group will gather today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the federal building, 22 E. 7th Ave. The public is invited to participate. Scottish night planned The Eugene Parks and Recreation Department’s fourth annual Bum’s Night Celebration will take place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday at the Laurelwood Recreation building, 2700 Columbia St. The celebration, in honor of the birthday of Scotland’s national poet of brotherhood, will feature piping, dancing, poetry, singing, refresh ments and socializing with a Scottishflabor. Participants with a Scottish background are invited to wear plaid. The celebration is open to all ages, and the admission is 50 cents for children and $1 for adults or a donation of Scottish cakes or cookies. The Scottish Society will provide punch.
