et al_ Meeting on dam planned R A public meeting to discuss the proposed Strube Dam will be held by the Army Corps of Engineers Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the main meeting room of Harris Hall, Eighth Avenue and Oak Street. The dam, authorized by Congress in 1962, would be built two miles below Cougar Dam on the McKenzie River's South Fork, about 45 miles east of Eugene. The project, estimated to cost $51.9 million, also includes adding a 35,000-kw generating unit to the Cougar powerhouse, which now has two 12,500-kw units.
