Business firm
gives one-day
finance seminar
A seminar on ‘‘Successful
Financing: How to borrow twice
the money with half the work,” will
be held Friday at the Valley River
Inn.
The one-day program is pre
sented by Executive Seminars, an
independent educational organi
zation specializing in continuing
education for business execu
tives and professionals. The firm
works with professional groups
and privately owned firms in the
design and delivery of seminars
and conferences on a variety of
business topics.
Tuition is $95 for a single regist
ration and must be paid three days
in advance of the seminar. Atten
dance is limited. The course is ap
proved for 12 credit hours by the
Oregon Real Estate Division and
the Oregon Board of Accounting.
Program hours are 9 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. Leading the seminar is
Somers White of Arizona, who is
current president of Somers White
Company, management and fi
nancial consultants, and former
Arizona senator and founder of
Seattle’s Northwest Bank.
For information regarding group
discounts of five or more, or to
register by phone, call Ruth Hast
ings in Portland (503) 223-3921.
Corrections,
amplifications
Music Dean Morrette River
said Saturday that the addi
tions to the music school make
the facility one of the best on
the West Coast. It had been
reported that he referred to the
program, rather than to the
building.
Additionally in Monday’s
Emerald, IFC candidate Perry
Buck’s statement concerning
funding for Greeks was incor
rect. Buck does not support
funding for fraternities and
sororities or for rush.
Finally, SUAB candidate
Harry Benedict says that he
“strongly believes that a denial
to release course evaluations
which include comments on
faculty performance is a mis
carriage of our education.”

Halloween dance slated
Two University dormitories, Hamilton and Bean, will sponsor an
all-campus dance entitled “The Masquerade" tonight at the Carson Hall
cafeteria beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The masquerade dance is part of a larger dorm-sponsored prog
ram, “Spotlight 78,” into which most of the dormitory halls have paid 75
cents per person. Other activities will be planned during the rest of the
year under the “Spotlight 78" theme.
Tonight's dance will feature a five-piece band, “Swaney Brothers,”
which will play from 9 p.m. until midnight. Soft drinks will be served at no
charge.
Dormitory residents from the sponsoring halls may come at no
charge, while those from non-sponsoring dorms must bring 50 cents
and their room keys as proof of residence. Those not living in dorms pay
$1
‘Great Pumpkin’ disco due
KBDF and the Eugene Easter Seal School will hold a Great Pump

People of all ages are invited to join the KBDF air-personalities in
an effort to raise money for a new therapy pool for the Easter Seal

follow until 1 a.m.
