Expert shows liquor film
Decision making and problem solving is the topic of the next
alcohol education program Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Scout Room of
Central Presbyterian Church.
Laurie Griffith of the Alcohol Traffic Safety Clinic will be the speaker
and a film, “The Alcoholic Within Us” will be shown.
The free program is designed for the general public by the Lane
County Council on Alcoholism. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
Last day to file book lists
Today is the deadline for instructors to submit books for the sum
mer reserve in the library.
According to Kathy Lundquist, reserve book room supervisor, there
is usually a backlog of materials to be processed at the beginning of
each term, so faculty and teaching fellows should bring their personal
materials in soon.
Materials now on reserve are not subject to the same deadline.

German film plays today
There will be a showing of the “Deutsche Sommerschule am
Pazifik” by Prof. Langhammer of Portland State University, this morning
at 1030 in Studio B of the library.
Interested students are urged to see the film even though they have
no plans to attend the “Sommerschule” German program. Langham
mer, who has been associated with the summer program for 20 years, is
willing and able to answer any questions students have.
The program at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, offers a
unique learning experience: German is spoken during all waking hours
and classes are small, approximately seven students per class. There
are still several places available.
Anyone with two or more years of college German may apply.
Scholarships are available, too.
