Yes. the Emerald staff does know how to count. Just because m
yesterday s paper Page 8 was where page 2 should have been, and
vice-versa. and Page 11 was where Page 5 should have been, and
vice-versa, doesn't mean we flunked Math 095. What it means is that
our pnmer must have flunked Math 095. Whatever the reason , we hope

Media, labor plan forum
A two-day workshop at the
Eugene Hotel Thursday and Fri
day will bring together labor lead
ers and media representatives to
consider the rote of the media in
interpreting labor issues.
The workshop, to start at 8:30
a.m. Thursday in the Emerald
Room and at 8:30 a m. Friday in
the Enterprise Room, will include
a luncheon address at noon Fri
day by Oregon Gov. Bob Straub.
Straub will speak in the King Cote
Room.
Sponsor of the workshop is the
Oregon Labor Education and Re
search Center (LERC), at the
University. Co-sponsor of the
Straub talk is the Lane County
Labor Forum.
Workshop sessions Thursday

tions techniques to labor union
personnel. Friday the workshop
will focus on the commercial
media’s coverage of organized
labor.

communications director of the
Oregon Education Association in

Pat Leyden, commisioner of the
Federal Mediation and Concilia
tion Service in Portland and
David Selvin, editor of Northern
California Labor, a San Francisco
labor newspaper.
