Los Angeles Calif 90020 News writer to speak of Moscow experiences The EMU Cultural Forum will present Robert Kaiser a foreign correspondent for the Wash ngton Post Wednesday at 7:30 p n\ in the EMU Ballroom Kaisers talk will focus on his nree-year experience tn Russia where he was the Moscow cor respondent for the Washington Post from 1971 through 1974. Kaiser was bom in Washington D C. in 1943 He graduated from Vase and took a masters degree at the London School of Economics He has worked for the Washing ton Post in various capacities since 1963. first as a part-time re porter while stiH in college, later as an irregular correspondent from London, a city reporter. Saigon correspondent and, from 1971 to 1974. chief of the Moscow bureau. His first book Cold Winter. CoW War a history of the Tru man Doctnne appeared in 1974 His most recent book. Russia, the Peopie and the Power," was published in 1976. and is about his residence in Moscow, with his personal observations and in terpretations of Soviet life. His ac count is an in-depth study as well as a sensitive recording of the unique socio-cultural environment in Russia. Kaiser s journalism has been published in Esquire, New York Magazine. The Victor Todd Memorial, in honor of the former resident engineer at the University in 1936, was initiated by a brother who had lived in China for more than 20 years.
