Bronze Age lecture set A free public lecture called “The Bronze Age in Greece: Two Thousand Years of Puzzles,” will be presented tonight at 8 in 177 Lawrence Hall. Terpsichori Tzabella-Evjen, a classics professor at the University of Colorado, will examine and propose possible solutions for numerous problems facing the archaeologist seeking to reconstruct the history of Greece in the Bronze Age (3.000 to 1,000 B.C.). She will address herself to such questions as where the Early Bronze Age people came from, and when Greek speaking people arrived in Greece. Woodwinds to perform The University Woodwind Quintet will perform at Beall concert hall tonight at 8. The quintet is a faculty music group and its members perform with the University Summer Festival Orchestra and Eugene symphony. The group includes faculty members Peter Bergquist, Edward Kammerer, Robert Moore, Richard Trombley and Margaret Quacken bush, a local musician and teacher. The program will be Andante “pour le Cor Anglais” by Anton Reicha, Quintette by Jean Francaix and Quintette II for Woodwind Instruments by Alvin Etler. There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend. Women to hold retreat Women in Campus Ministry will hold a retreat-conference for Uni versity women students and staff members, Friday and Saturday at the Wesley Center, 1414 Kincaid. St. This $5 conference is the first of its kind in Oregon for women to explore their spirituality. The workshops will focus on the place of women in the organized church. Sexism and the Bible, Women Theologizing, Personal Growth and Improvization workshops will be held. Contact the center at 344-4219. Costa Ricans visit campus Six Costa Rican educators will spend three days, beginning today at the University under the Partners of the Americas Teachers Ex change Program. During their visit, the exchange teachers will tour various University facilities and will observe regular classes in the College of Arts and Sciences. Morris to speak David Morris, neighborhood self-reliance expert, will speak Tues day at 7:30 p.m. in 167 EMU. Morris will give an alternative vision of society based on self reliance, as sponsored by SEARCH, the Survival Center, the Cultural Forum and the Landscape Architecture Department.
