Center offers workshops Two new courses, a men’s group and a number of workshops ‘lor anyone who wants to make a good relationship better” will be offered this winter by the Marriage Education Center (MEL) in Eugene. “Marriage and You: A Couple Growth Experience” begins Tuesday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Edison/Eastside Community School, 1328 E. 22nd Ave. Cost is $50 per couple, with Tuesday set as a free orientation evening. Coed and Women’s basketball deadlines are Wednesday at 4 p.m., while the deadline for enter ing men’s and women's inner tube water polo is also Wednesday at 4 p.m. ‘Eckanker’ course set A new Search course on “Eck ankar, Path of Total Awareness," will be offered Mondays beginning tonight in the Eugene ECK Center, 1122 Alder St., from 7-8:30 p.m. Eckankar, a spiritual teaching, stresses the experience of total awareness through the use of soul travel. The course will emphasize the teachings of higher worlds that persons inhabit while residing in the physical body. Phi Beta screens films Phi Beta, the national professional fraternity for the Performing Arts, will show films on ballet and modem dance Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Studio A of the instructional Media Center in the University Library. Frances Dougherty, former head of the dance department and member of the local alumnae chapter of Phi Beta, will present “Ballet with Edward Vileila” and “Paul Taylor and Company." College sponsors awara Babson College In Massachusetts will sponsor an Edward Bemays Foundation Award for a practical program to achieve economic justice for homomakers The nationwide competition will award $3,000 for the best 5,000 words or less essay on a program to achieve equitable treatment for homemakers. The competition closes Oct. 16.
