€t al Lane slates services workshop Food stamps, children s ser vices, medical care, volunteerism and education opportunities will be discussed at a social services information workshop Saturday. The free workshop is spon sored by the Lane Community College Women’s Awareness Center and Counseling Depart ment and Lane County Aid to De pendent Children Services. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Roosevelt Junior High School, 680 E. 24th Ave. The workshop is designed to provide answers to questions women with children might have in returning to school, expanding their volunteer efforts and seeking financial assistance. Free child care will be provided and participants are urged to bring sack lunches for the dav-lona workshop. The show includes slides of Katmandu, Eugene s new sister city, as well as trekking in the Mt Everest and Annapurna regions The five-member Outdoor Pro gram group trekked nearly 500 miles through Nepal's rugged Himalayas, climbing to elevations about 18,000 feet several times. Recital features music for flute Music for flute will be featured at a piano recital and concert scheduled at Lane Community College (LCC) Sunday and Wed nesday. LCC student Wyatt Burger will present his graduation recital Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Perform ing Arts Theatre. The program will include works by Chopin, Bach, Beethoven and Shostakovich. “Flute Fest, " a concert featuring music for the flute, but including cello and piano, will be performed Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Per forming Arts Theatre. Composers to be performed include Bach, De Lorenzo, Ibert, Zaninelli and Reynolds. Health center hires clinician The University's Health Center has added a family planning clini cian to the nursing staff. Kathy Wunderlich will be seeing patients for routine family plan ning visits and follow-ups, consul tation concerning regular birth control methods and minor gynecological complaints. Wunderlich, 33, comes to the University from a teaching posi tion at Wichita State University in Kansas She earned a bachelor s degree in nursing from St. Louis University and a master s degree in family planning from Texas Women s University. Wunderlich will work with Dr. Sarah Hendrickson, a general practitioner in charge of family planning at the Health Center.
