Perlo also emphasized the role of political activism in restructuring America. He said that the “campaign against Nixon should be accompanied by rising activity” and that the daily lives of all citizens should include political activity. At present, he said, only large corporations and other vested interests are generally active on a daily basis, which allows for the perpetuation and expansion of their power. He called the “incredible” resistance to the Vietnam War an example of how masses of people from within an “imperialist state” could force concessions by the leadership. Perlo noted that his own ex periences indicate how attitudes have changed over the years regarding radical politics. He gave as an example the fact that he is now teaching economics at Antioch College, whereas 15 years ago he could not find a job in academia despite over whelming support. Not the typical cranny (Continued from Page 1) places “everything was coin operated, even the people.” During all her years of hit chhiking, Grace has never been in a serious accident or received a ticket. She travels only during the day, avoids big cities and refuses rides from people she considers “suspicious-looking.” Her own statements, however, testify to the fact that she does not consider too many people “suspicious-looking.” "I have to talk to folks or die,” she con fesses. Grace Small continues to correspond with many of the friends she has made on her travels. She is one of the best examples of one of her own sayings, “If you aren’t a friend, you can’t have friends.” ( CARS & CYCLES ) 1**5 PONTIAC CATALINA. Sturdy and fast, four speed S250?
