African religion lecture tonight “The Meaning and Significance of African Religion” will be the title of a lecture tonight by John Mbiti at 8 p.m. in 150 Science. Mbiti is head of the department of religious studies and philosophy at Makerere University College, University of East Africa. He has published works on African religions and philosophy, as well as the relation of Christianity to African religions Unseen life topic of talk today, Tuesday “Life in the World Unseen” is the title of a talk by Regis Hanna of New York at noon today and at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the EMU. Hanna's talk, sponsored by the Cultural Forum, will be on the dimension of life beyond our physical senses and will include diagrams and slides. Today’s talk will be in 214 EMU. Metzler ‘Confrontation’ now at Co-op Copies of “Confrontation: The Destruction of a College President” by Ken Metzler, associate professor of journalism at the University, are now available at the Co-Op. “Confrontation” is an analysis of the events leading up to the death of Charles Johnson, acting president of the University during 1968-69, and an interpretation of the situation as it exists today in other colleges all over the country. Published by Nash Publishing of Los Angeles, it is on sale for $10 per copy. Bogue this week s executive in residence Phillip Bogue, managing partner of the Portland office of Arthur Anderson & Co., certified public accountants, will be an “executive in residence” at the College of Business Administration Monday through Wednesday. The “executive in residence” program brings well-known businessmen to meet with classes, hold informal conversations with students and faculty, and to discuss developments in their fields of specialization. Bogue is a graduate of the University of W7ashington. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard College. Bogue will be a personality-in-residence in University dormitories during his visit on the campus. Swedish prof speaks on media Tuesday Jorgen Westerstahl, professor at the University of Goteborg, Sweden, will be a guest speaker at the University Tuesday and Wednesday. He will speak on “Political Objectivity and the Mass Media” on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the EMU. On Wednesday, Westerstahl will hold an informal colloquium in the Reading Room of Allen Hall at 2:30 p.m. Both the lecture and the colloquium are open to the public free of charge | Community Kidney donor leaflet now available The Oregon Kidney Donor Program, a statewide project spon sored by the University of Oregon Medical School and the United States Veterans Administration Hospital of Portland, with public information provided by the Kidney Association of Oregon, has an nounced that an attractive leaflet describing the program is now available to the public at no charge. The leaflet outlines the importance of the kidney disease problem. The key to success of the Oregon Kidney Donor Program is the completion by individuals of a kidney donor card. EBAA needs 42 baseball coaches The Eugene Boys Athletic Association is in desperate need of 42 volunteer baseball coaches. Teams began practicing on April 28th and only those teams who do not have a cpach are unable to practice at this time. Teams practice 3 to 4 times per week during the season.
