Oregon 97403 Millrace cleanup set The ASUO Survival Center, Druids and the Committee for Millrace Development will be sponsoring a millrace clean-up beginning at 8:30 a.m., 1000 Alder Street, this Saturday morning, April 29th. Survival Center Director Mike Dotten comments that the “flow has already been blocked up stream and we're all ready to go.” Everyone concerned has been invited to join together in cleaning up a four-year ac cumulation of junk that has gathered in the millrace. They are Peter Murphy and Carolyn Newiand. both of Eugene, and James Larpenteur of Portland. Their appointments are for one year, 1973-74. While members of the public have served previously on University committees, this is believed to be the first time any have been ap pointed to this faculty committee. Logan will read poetry A free noon reading of poetry will be given by John Logan today in the EMU, room to be posted. Lcgan is professor of creative writing at the State University of New York in Buffalo and formerly held the Theodore Roethke poetry chair at the University of Washington. He has published several books of poetry and is the former poetry editor of file Nation. Stale Board of Mothers Club will meet The State Board of University Mothers Clubs will hold a business meeting at 10 a.m. today in the EMU, room to be posted, and a iun cheon meeting at the Faculty Club at 12:30 p.m., with State Rep. Larry Perry as the speaker. Saturday at 8:30 a m in the EMU Ballroom, all parents of University students are invited to the Parents’ Breakfast. University President Robert Clark will speak, scholarships and other awards will be presented and honorary tappings will be held. Julie Berg, University student from Winston, will present a musical selection Hazel Foss, president of the campus branch of the University Mothers Clubs, will present $800 to the Scholarship Fund. Lecture and slide show: ‘Let Us Pray* Robert Dvorak, assistant professor of architecture at the University, will show a group oi his experimental films during a lecture in 177 Lawrence Hall at 4:30 p.m. today. Dvorak will talk about his experiences as a fellow in en vironmental design at the American Academy in Rome from 1970 to 1972, while on leave from the University. Subject of the lecture, “Let Us Pray," takes its title from one of Dvorak’s films which he will show. Cox will discuss Bible prophecies today At 3:30 today in 150 Science, Dr. Raymond Cox, expert in Bible prophesy, will present a slide-illustrated discussion of prophesies which are being fulfilled now. He will explore the implications of fulfilled prophesy for your life. Angel flight will host barbecue Angel Flight of the University is having a barbecue at 1 p.m. Sunday for members and parents of Air Force ROTC Angel flight Parents will also get a tour of the Air Force ROTC building, including the new Cadet Lounge in the basement. | Community J Baha is will sponsor kite festival The Baha 'is of Eugene invite the public to a Kite Festival Sunday at 2 p.m. in Alton Baker Park. Prizes will be awarded for the kites best depicting the theme, “The Oneness of Mankind,” which is the central Baha i principle. Chuy Mendez, local graphics professional, will be judging the kites. Entries are welcome from people of all ages. No admission charge. Antique Bottle Club show and sale slated The Seventh Annual Gold Diggers Antique Bottle Club Show and Sale will be held at the Gold Hill Grange Hall, in Gold Hill, Oregon on Saturday and Sunday. Hours will be from 9a.m. to7 p.m. on Saturday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is 25c, with children under 12 admitted free. Displays on the upper level of the hall will show various collections of oid beers, sodas, whiskeys, fruit jars, case bottles, inks, bitters, poisons, spices and many others. Awards will be given in various categories on these displays. Dealers will be attending from Utah, Montana, Washington, California and other areas in Oregon, as well as club members, and be selling on the lower level of the hall. A snack bar is also available on this level.
