The paintings are the work of Alonzo artist, owner, and director of Brockman Gallery in Los Angeles, a gallery which showcases the work of black artists world Formerly a student of University professor Charles Lanier, Alonzo also instructs art at UCLA. ^ , Alonzo will be on campus April 24 during Black Art Festival week and will present a slide and film program. For further information on the Festival, contact Deborah Barnett, 302 EMU, 686-4373. The art exhibit is co-sponsored by the Black Student Union and the EMU. Outdoor program schedules slide show The Outdoor Program will sponsor a multi-media slide show tonight at 7 and 8 p.m. in the EMU. The show gives an overview of the Outdoor Program’s varied activities with program people there to answer questions on any program activities. Anyone interested in outdoor ventures is encouraged to attend the show that is orchestrated by artists such as the Moody Blues, Cat Stevens and Elton John. Summer session catalogs available Copies of the University summer session catalog are now available. The catalog, which features a new format, includes course descriptions, and information on fees, registration, summer session services, facilities and extracurricular activities. All summer session students intending to enroll for credit must file a registration request notice with the registrar’s office before official registration procedures can be started. The notice must be filed by June 1 for all 8-week or ll-week courses. Registration request forms are included in each catalog. Pre-session workshops begin June 11, with registration for regular summer session classes slated for June 18. Classes begin June 19. Free copies of the new catalog may be obtained in t the registrar’s office in Emerald Hall, at the information office in Johnson Hall, and at the summer session office, 130 Education. Candlemaker, folk balladeer in EMU The Craftsmen’s Corner features craftsman William Moore, candlemaker, this week. Moore will set up a small booth in the EMU Fishbowl and exhibit and sell his candles as well as demonstrate the art of making them. Craftsmen’s Corner operates Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Diane Adams, a folk balladeer, returns for a repeat performance as featured artist of the Fishbowl Follies this week. Her performances will be held in the EMU Fishbowl on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8:30 p.m. Adams resides in the Eugene area and has played at several local concerts. The Follies will also include its regular Wednesday night ‘Free Mike’ program which begins at 8:30 p.m. Elizabethan comedy to close The final two performances of University Theatre’s production of the magical Elizabethan comedy The Honorable History of Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay will be Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31. Tickets for the 8 p.m. performances may be reserved at the University Theatre box office in Villard Hall or by calling 686-4191 between noon and 5 p.m. any weekday. Tickets will also be available at the door on performance nights. Students with i.d., ami their spouses, may purchase remaining tickets for $1.50each after 7:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings. [ Community YMCA class registration begins Registration for spring term classes has begun at the Central Lane Family YMCA. Most classes will be offered for 10-week sessions. The cost is $12 per class for non-YMCA members, and $10 for members. Further information on the classes can be obtained by calling or visiting the YMCA, 2055 Patterson St. OSPIRG summer applications due OSPIRG has announced that the OSPIRG summer internship applications are due April 1. There are 13 research positions open at $1,000 each. Applications are available at the OSPIRG local board office on campus. Students are asked to submit applications as soon as possible. Robin Grove, chairer, stated that the student internship com mittee will begin making their selection of applicants immediately after the deadline.
