Mills, who is on campus for appointments with various University officials, has served as a consultant to the Project Indian Education, program at the University of South Dakota, and as director of Career Opportunity Programs in Spokane. He has worked in the field of adult education and is presently a guidance counselor in the Spokane, Wash, public education system. The Office of Academic Affairs incorrectly told the Emerald Wednesday that Mills currently teaches mentally retarded students at Eastern Washington State College. He worked designing curriculum for the mentally retarded for the Spokane area public schools during 1971. Sorrels and Adams will hold concert The Lane County Free University and the University School of Music are presenting country-folk recording artist Rosalie Sorrels and Northwest balladeer John Adams. The concert will be in the Recital Hall at the University School of Music at 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Ms. Sorrels, originally from Boise, Idaho, is a respected and well known country musician and lyricist. Her very personal and intense style of writing, is more on the level of poetry than lyrics. Traveling all over the world and having done many tours in this country, Iks' music is her life as capsulized in her second album, Travelin’ Lady. Tickets are $1.50 to the general public, and $1.25 to University and LCFU students. Saturday matinee added for ‘Oklahoma’ The University has added a 2 p.m. Saturday Matinee to the per formance schedule of Oklahoma Tickets are $2.50. Rowan here to talk to Black students Black Students will have a chance to meet with Carl Rowan, distinguished Black columnist and former ambassador and deputy assistant secretary of state, today at 3 p.m. in the EMU (room to be posted). Come and rap. He will be available for about an hour. Mr. Rowan’s column is syndicated to scares of newspapers across the country including the Oregonian and the Eugene Register-Guard. He is on campus for the Oregon Newspaper Association conference. Even John Lennon had a garbage man A British landscape architect, Ianto Evans, who once was a neigh bor of Beatle John Lennon, will give a free public lecutre 4:30 p.m. Friday in 177 Lawrence, entitled “I Knew John Lennon’s Bin-Man.” “Bin-man" is a British colloquialism for garbage collector. The lecture is part of a winter term series sponsored by the School of Ar chitecture and Allied Arts. Positions are open at Camp Humdinger Summer work-study positions are available at c»mp Humdinger for counselors to work with disadvantaged children on a primitive site south of Coos Bay. The coed camp operates five 10-day sessions where work-study and college volunteer staff work with high school counselors, assuming responsibility for program and supervision of a camper group.
