Hearing set on abolishing Senate
The Ad Hoc Committee to abolish the ASUO Senate is holding an
open hearing on their proposed amendment to the ASUO constitution.
The hearing will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today in the EMU, room to be
announced.
The proposed changes in the constitution will be summarized and
discussed; students will also have an opportunity to sign a petition to
put the proposed amendment on the ASUO general election ballot.
Two new Cuban films featured
Two Cuban films will be shown tonight at 7 and 9:30 p.m. in 177
Lawrence Hall. The first film is “Memories of Underdevelopment.”
The second feature “Why Moncada?” is a collage film that traces the
Cuban revolution from its inception to the present. Admission to the
two films will cost $1.00. All proceeds willl be donated to Children’s
Community School, Switchboard and the Eugene Youth Hostel.
Swedish massage class to begin
The University YMCA is sponsoring a class in Swedish massage to
begin Feb. 21. The class, to be taught by Kit Galloway, will con
centrate on basic massage for beginners. Both men and women may
join the class, which will run for approximately ten weeks. For fur

Socialist to speak on ‘revolution’
Rick Berman, Oregon organizer for the Young Socialist Alliance,
will speak on “The Coming Revolution: Strategy for Socialism in the
Seventies” at 7:30p.m. tonight in the EMU, room to be posted.
English trio in concert tonight
“Vienna Nights,” a program of music and song of the best of the
Viennese composers, will be presented tonight at McArthur Court, 8
p.m. An English group composed of Marion Studholme, soprano,
Edmund Bohan, tenor and Robert Bateman, baritone, accompanied
by three instrumentalists will appear under the auspices of the
Eugene and University Music Association.
A limited number of free tickets for the concert are available to
students at the Main Desk, Student Union, on a first come basis.
Early Instrument group to perform
The Early Instrument Ensemble, conducted by Gary Martin, will
give a free concert at 8 Thursday evening in the Recital Hall
MBAs select officers
Dan Humphries was elected president and Julian Skalbeck vice
president of the Masters of Business Administration at an election last
Friday. The pair will serve during winter and spring terms.
The MBA Association is composed of all graduate business
students for the Masters degree, and is spokesman for MBA students
to the Graduate Student Council, the faculty and to various com
mittees on campus.
In addition to the executive officers, new department represen
tatives were also chosen. Craig Schultz will represent Marketing
Transportation and Business Environment (MTBE); Ken Keller will
represent Finance and Business Environment (FBE); Evan Stoll will
represent Personnel and Industrial Management (PIM) and Girard
Liberty will represent Accounting and Quantitative Methods (Ac
QM).

Hearing set on phone rate increase
A public hearing on a rate increase request by Pacific Northwest
Bell will be held Thursday night at 7:30. The hearing will take place at
Harris Hall, adjacent to the Lane County Court House.
The request by PNB would raise an additional $32 million in
revenue.
The Oregon Daily Em ere id is published Monday through Friday
