Rilling will also conduct a concert of the Music of Heinrich Shutz on Saturday. The three concerts climax the 1972 Summer Festival of Baroque Music presented by the Community of Eugene and the School of Music. The concerts will be at 8 p.m. each night in the Central Lutheran Church at 18th and Potter Streets. Rilling is one of Germany’s foremost choral conductors. He studied choral composition with Johann David, conducting with Hans Grischkat and Leonard Bernstein, and organ with Fernando Germani at the St. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. Tickets for the weekend concerts are $2.50 for adults for each of the performances, and $1.50 for students. Admission is also by series ticket. Antiwar groups sponsor slide show Two slide shows, “Ecocide in Indochina” and “Automated Air War” will be presented today in connection with boycott activities against the war being conducted by the Peace Center and the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. “Ecocide in Indochina” is a documentary on the environmental effects of the Vietnam war compiled by the Eugene Peace Center from materials supplied by E. W. Pfeiffer, University of Montana zoologist, who has made four fact-finding trips to Vietnam. “Automated Air War describes how war technology in the form of computers, electronic sensors, and pilotless drone aircraft has been introduced in Southeast Asia as a means of continuing the Vietnarrt war without ground combat troops or a need for high draft calls. " The slide shows are being shown in the EMU, starting at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Two degree recitals given at noon Two degree recitals will be given at the School of Music today. Thomas Wildman, candidate for a Doctor of Music Arts degree, will be presented in a trumpet recital at 12:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. He will be assisted by Doran Lindelien, Carolyn Neff, Joan Wildman, and Walt Wilson in presentation of the music of Poulenc, Muczynski, Vercoe, and Hubert Arnold. A piano recital will be given by Richard Asher, candidate for Master of Music Education degree. This will be at 8 p.m. in the Recital Hall. He will play compositions by Beethoven, Bartok, Bach, Webern, and Ravel. Both recitals are open to the public with no admission charge. Community Demo leader io talk taxes at forum The Democratic Leader for the State House of Representatives will be featured speaker at noon at the regular weekly meeting of the Lane Demo Forum. The speaker is Lane County State Representative Dick Eymann and he is scheduled to speak on the topic, “Oregon’s Ta?c Dilemma.” | The State Legislative leader is scheduled to place in perspective the State Farm Bureau’s proposed initiative measure and the proposal by Governor McCall to replace the local property tax as a means of supporting schools and local government. Eymann, former secretary of the Oregon Tax Commission, is a past chairman of the House of Representative Tax Committee and was a minority member of the Revenue Committee in the 1972 session of the legislature. The Lane Demo Forum is held in the Colonial Dining Room in the Veterans Memorial Building and is open to the public. A buffet luncheon is available for $1.50 on a no-host basis.
