    Crucial series
with Huskies
confronts Ducks
Good grief. What happens if Oregon’s baseball
team whips Washington three times this weekend?
If the Ducks sweep this Northern Division Pacific
8 series, that means they’re 7-2 in the conference—
and in the driver’s seat for the title.
Only one problem. Winner of the mud and rain
division has to go to California and play either USC,
Stanford, Cal, or UCLA. Some honor. Those people
play more games in a week than Oregon can slosh
through in a season.
Coach Mel Krause will tackle that problem when

■regBrosterhous. Bob Anderson and Dave Roberts
tor plenty of firepower.
Brosterhous apparently saves everything for
conference games-he’s ripping league pitchers for
a .46, average and 10 RBIs. Roberts has slugged
eight homers, and is hitting .318 in loop games
Anderson, who manages to get to first more than
any Duck, is hitting .313 in the conference
Claydon whipped Oregon State in his last start 7-1
while Shoup blanked the Beavers 14-0 on a three
hitter his last time out.
The Huskies are 1-2 in Northern Division plav,
losing a series to Washington State.
