The agenda of Senate business includes the ratification of the Inner-Institution of Students revised constitution, and the con firmation of appointments to Senate committees, the Hearing Panel on University Priorities, and the Student Administrative Board. Three bills with do-pass recommendations from the Community Affairs Committee will be considered. They include a proposal that three senators conduct a 400-person random sample to gain student opinion on the proposed EMU addition, and a resolution to protest Cascade Head development at Lincoln City. A Student Community Projects request for a transfer of $650 from the Drug information Center account to the New Programs account will be discussed. Jazz trios to perform Friday An evening of jazz comes to campus Friday when Mose Allison and Kenny Burrell perform with their trios. Both trios will perform two concerts at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. in the EMU Ballroom, presented by the ASUO Cultural Forum. Mose’s understated, country blues has affected the styles and sensibilities of virtually all well-known white blues artists and countless others. Kenny Burrell purchased his first guitar with $5 sent him by his older brother during World War II. Burrell is a soft spoken man. On jazz though, he is a man of deep convictions. “Blues, The Common Ground” is the title of one of his albums on the MGM label, which is indicative of his high regard for the blue form and of its unbroken relation to gospel music. Tickets for the concert are $3.00 general admission and are available at the Chrystalship, the EMU Main Desk and at the door. University Republicans meet tonight The University Republicans Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the EMU “to channel people interested in party candidates to the people who will help them get involved in particular campaigns,” according to club member Rob Olson.
