Ski Table Friday — EMU Sponsored by ASUO Outdoor Program State senator raps Johnson's idea on grape boycott State Sen. George Eivers, R Milwaukie, delivered sharp crit icism of Acting University Pres ident Charles Johnson's decision to ban grapes from dormitory kitchens, at the state legislature Tuesday. "What he is in effect doing is declaring a secondary boy cott and imposing economic sanctions on people who may not be involved,” Eivers de - dared. Then Eivers warned, “What would his (Johnson's) reaction be if the legislature decided to impose economic sanctions on the University?” Eivers told the Senate he did not think that banning grapes at the University gave any “freedom of choice” for those who opposed the action and who might want to eat grapes. As to the President’s report ed proposal to take a poll later on. Eivers, a lawyer, said, “it is like saying you may not have had a fair trial but in the mean time I'm going to hang you.” Want to really get results?
