Service Stressed
By IFC President
University fraternities should
direct their initiative away from
“hell week” toward community
service, Inter-Fraternity Council
President Chris Mullman told
an audience of about 350 rushees
in McArthur Court Thursday
night.
In a brief speech Mullman
warned the audience composed
of freshman that fraternities
would wither away if they
weren’t relevant. He said the
fraternity system could no lon
ger be strictly a social system
or dating service.
The IFC President also told
the rushees the future of the
fraternity system at the Univer
sity depended more on them
than on him as the president.

briefly to the group.
Formal rush for IFC will be
gin Thursday evening and will
continue through Sunday.

fessor of geography and research
associate in the Institute of In
ternational Studies at the Uni
versity for the 1968-69 academ
ic year. Marasciulo has been in
volved in federal programs in
Guatemala, Nicaragua, Bolivia
and in Washington, D. C.
