Campus Happenings Today MAURICE ZEITLIN, politi cal sociologist who has carried out extensive research in Cuba and Chile, will give a public colloquium on “Social Structure and Social Revolution in the Case of Cuba” at 3 p.m. today in 341 Commonwealth. The Latin American Studies Committee and department of sociology are sponsoring the dialogue. STUDENTS FOR KENNEDY invite anyone to question or debate national issues and Ken nedy’s policies with Ira Blalock at 12:30 p.m. today on the EMU Terrace. Blalock, a Unitarian minister from Portland, is a critic of na tional policy and will be speak ing at 11 a.m. at Lane Com munity College. Future “INDUSTRY’S Role in Pollu tion Abatement” will be discuss ed by John McKeown, general manager of Weyerhaeuser Com pany, Charles Porter, attorney, and Vern Adkison, Lane County Air Quality Control Officer, at 7 p.m. Tuesday in room 101 EMU. The discussion is spon sored by Alpha Kappa Psi, the University’s professional busi ness fraternity. HONORS COLLEGE students planning on taking the Honors College comprehensive examin ations must sign up for them by May 15 in the Honors College Office. “CRISIS IN American Reli gion” will be discussed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the weekly Browsing Room lecture in the Erb Memorial Union. The lecturer will be Rabbi Richard Rubenstein, director of B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation and chaplain to Jewish students in Pittsburgh area colleges and universities. Mostly General SCHOLARSHIPS are being offered to those from minority communities by the U.S. Infor mation Agency, for those who want to prepare themselves for careers in the agency. Appli cations may be made by re cent college graduates or those who will graduate this spring with Bachelor degrees. PERSONS interested in mu sic for young children will have the opportunity to participate in two summer workshops at the University this year. “Workshop: First Steps to Music” for two hours of gradu ate credit will provide a lab oratory demonstration in which a group of children from six to eight years of age will be intro duced to music through fancy, imagination, and play. “Workshop: Use of Recorder and Instruments for Children,” also for two hours of graduate credit, will focus on the use of simple instruments in the elementary grades. APPLICATIONS to study at the Japan Study Center at Wase da University in Tokyo next year are due Wednesday. Stu dents will leave for Tokyo about Sept. 1. Classes will be taught in English by staff members of the International Division of Wase da University.
