Convocation on Kerner Report
Begins Course on City Problems
A public convocation on the
Kerner Report at 7:30 Monday
night in the EMU Ballroom will
also be the first class meeting
for the new SEARCH course
titled Inter disciplinary Seminar
on the Kerner Report.
University President Arthur
S. Flemming will be the main
speaker.
The objectives of the seminar
are to examine in depth the so
cial. political and economic im
plications of the racial and cen
tral city problems.
The seminar’s format will con
sist of four general assembles
in the initial meetings, and
then a breakdown of the class
into small groups which will
meet and work for the four fol
lowing weeks. Then, for the re
mainder of the term, all stu
dents will meet again in assem
bly for the purpose of reinte
gration.
