Ducklings Keyed For OSU Battle By JEFF WOHLER Kmrratd Sport* Wrlrt Oregon’s frosh football team lost 3-0 to Oregon State earlier this year. But, unlike the varsity, they get a second chance at their rivals The Ducklings play the Books again Friday on Hayward Field. "We're a lot more ready for them now,” commented coach Norm Chapman on Friday's game. "Last time we played ’em we just killed ourselves. The boys are keyed for this one.’’ OSU is 4-0 with victories over Washington State, Washington, and Treasure Valley Community College in addition to the frosh. And with the exception of the 3-0 win over Oregon, all of the OSU wins have been runaways. "They have really improved.” added Chapman. The Beavers sport a potential offense with fullback Craig Engle of Roseburg and halfback Sal Cirrincione of Chicago being the big guns. Oregon. 2-1. is fresh from a 30 7 victory over 'Washington at Se attle Saturday. ‘‘I’m really tick led about that performance," bub bled Chapman. “I was worried; about the game mainly because we hadn't played for so long (re ferring to a two-week layoff), but they rose to the occasion. I didn't think we'd whip them that bad, though.” Chapman cited quarterback Torn Blanchard and halfback Cam Sinclair for playing outstanding games. “Blanchard did his usual fine job while Sinclair intercept ed two passes on defense and also did a real good job on offense." Chapman also had praise for linemen Ron Simpson and Tim Wilmarth. “And Steve Rainey did an outstanding job in catching two touchdown passes." “This is the most important game of all. The boys are ready, so I think we’ll be in fine shape." concluded Chapman. Game time is 1:30 p.m. Soccer Team Meets The University Soccer Club will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the SU.
