Co-ed Pleads Guilty Of Hour Violation A freshman girl was sanctioned to disciplinary probation for one term for falsifying information to the University in Student Court Tuesday. The charge was that the de fendant called Iter living organi zation saying site was at home, when in fact, she was not and didn’t intend to be. The closed hearing began in the last Court session Oct. 25, but was adjourned as there was question whether falsifying infor ination to a living organization in sign out procedure was the same thing as falsifying informs lion to the University, a viola tion of section I.B.2.C. of the Student Conduct Code. A committee, including coun sol for the defense Jeremy Han dolph 111, third year law student, and Greg Heed, student prosecu tor, talked to several University officials, including Dean of Wo men G o 1 d a P. Wickham and President Arthur S. Flemming, about the matter. Tuesday in Court the commit tee reported the opinions and in terpretations resulting from the various consultations. After more than two hours of deliberation the Court voted 4-1 that the offense was indeed a violation under the Code. After this decision, the defend ant pleaded guilty and the case was tried. The C o u r t decided that al though the University has dele gated certain authority to living organizations, the University doesi not give living organizations the responsibility to maintain them selves as separate entities from the University. Reed pointed out that the sanc tion of one term of disciplinary probation is unusually light for this type of offense. There were "extenuating circumstances” in this case, however, he said, which mitigated the sanction. Society Presents Experimental Film The University’s Film Society will present the second of its underground films, “Our Found ing Fathers," Friday at 8 p.m. in 150 Science. This program will feature the first underground lilms, includ ing those by such surrealists as Salvador Dali. Included in the program will be the films: "Trip to the Moon,” "Rhythms 21,” and "Da Chien Avdalou" by Hunucll and Dali. Al so included are "Trade Tattoo,” "Pumpkin Race," and “Teddy at the Throttle.” The first program was present ed November 4, instead of this Friday as stated in Tuesday’s Em erald. Entitled "Blockbuster,” it showed the different faces of un derground films as well as the best of these motion pictures. It was arranged by film critic Shel don Renan.
