The fabrics were executed by Jane Gehring, assistant professor in art education at the University. Many of her designs have been purchased by Sunset and Mc Call’s magazines. The artist has designed for Bas sett and Bollum in Chicago and Wall Trends in New York. Exam ples of her work have appeared in one-man shows throughout the United States. Several of her designs are cur rently on circulating exhibit which are available to cities throughout the state under the sponsorship of Friends of the Mu seum. A show by Mrs. Gehring for the Western Association of Art Museums has recently returned after a two-year tour. SU Pool Prices Now Increased As student and faculty | “hustlers” may have noticed, | the price of playing pool in the | Student Union basement has been raised. Last year the price was 75 cents per table per hour. This year the price was upped to 90 cents per table per hour. The raise was necessary to meet the increased operational expenses of all the SU basement recreation facilities, said SU. Director Jack Cross. This in cludes the cost of recovering the pool table tops. Although it could just as well have been the price of bowling or table tennis that was raised. Cross said it was simpler to raise only pool prices, rather than trying to average out the prices between all facilities, which would create half-cent headaches. There are no plans to raise the price of bowling or table tennis this year. The price of pool in the SU is still considerably below that of commercial pool houses. The commercial price is “about $1 per person (as op posed to per table) per hour, at the least,” said Cross. Rhodes Scholarships Applications Available Applications for Rhodes schol arships for study at Oxford Uni versity, England, must be sub mitted by October 31. 1966. A candidate must be a male, unmarried U.S. citizen between the ages of 18 and 24 on October 1, 1966. Thirty-two awards are available for the U.S.A. applica tions.
